Rita Montez, MS, OTR/L is the owner of The Full Circle Development Center, a holistic pediatric occupational therapy clinic in Oakland, CA. Rita has worked in a variety of pediatric settings, including schools, hospitals, homes, and private clinics. Rita provides continuing education to other professionals and parents both nationally and locally.
Rita has extensive experience in sensory integrative and motor development and trans-disciplinary training in primitive reflex integration, craniosacral therapy, vision and perceptual development. She has trained with leading specialists in trauma and somatic therapeutic techniques. Rita was a national instructor for the Listening with the Whole Body (Therapeutic Listening®) course and developed a deep understanding of the interplay between the sensory systems and their relationship with the development of the body, mind, and perceptual being. She sees the integrity of an individual’s ability to sort, filter and organize sensation as key to developing the ability to engage with ease, purpose, and efficacy. Rita also has a deep interest in the impact of early trauma and its effect on development.
